Androula G. Nassiopoulou is a Director of Research and Head of the group on “Nanostructures for Nanoelectronics, Photonics and Sensors” at NCSR Demokritos/IMEL inAthens,Greece. She directed IMEL (Institute ofMicroelectronics) for 12 years and contributed to establishing the Institute as the National Centre of Excellence in Nanoelectronics and MEMS. She has been a member of the Board of Directors of NCSR Demokritos for 12 years and vice-president of NCSR Demokritos for 3 years.She is currently a member of the Board of management of the European Institute of Nanoelectronics “Sinano” and coordinates the RF research activity of the European Network of Excellence “Nanofunction”. Her current research interests are on Si nanostructures and nanostructured porous materials for applications in RF, sensors, solar cells and nanoelectronic devices.She is author/co-author of more than 250 publications in international journals and reviews, chaired or co-chaired more than 15 international conferences, edited 15 research paper volumes (special issues in specific research fields and conference proceedings) and supervised more than 15 PhD candidates. She holds a Physics diploma from theUniversityofAthens, an MSc and PhD degrees both from theUniversityofParis XIinOrsay,Franceand a habilitation to direct research (doctorat d’Etat) from theUniversity of Reims in France.
